The Rooney Road Recycling Center is the permanent year-round household hazardous chemical and waste recycling center made available to Jefferson County residents (and Arvada residents in Adams County) by your local government.

It’s easy to make an appointment online or by phone to deliver your wastes to the Center on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 am to 2 pm, or schedule residential curbside pickup. A small copay is required for household chemical disposal. Some items are recycled for free and some require an additional charge. We recycle over 99% of the chemicals collected, keeping them out of our natural environment.

Used Paint Recycling

Used paint is now being recycled through a program managed by PaintCare. If all you have is architectural paint products to dispose, make an appointment to bring it to the Rooney Road Recycling Center and recycle it for FREE!

It is illegal to dispose of computers, computer monitors, laptops, notebooks, tablets televisions, and peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and printers, fax machines, DVD and VCR players, radios, stereos, and video game consoles in the trash.
